TV Stand Attaching

A stand screw set typically contain the screws to attach the neck of a stand, or the legs, to the television. For some television models, there are one or more additional screw sets included that are for attaching the neck to the base of the stand. Depending on if your stand is in more than one piece, you can end up with leftover screws.

Television stand screws are typically coarse or fine threaded. Fine threaded screws go into pre-threaded metal holes and coarse threaded screws goes into plastic. Never use a fine threaded screw in plastic, or a coarse threaded screw in metal.

Always fill all the screw holes that connect the stand/legs to the television. If you do not have enough screws, then stop the installation and contact us. If you need to use force, or the screws feels too loose, then do not proceed with the installation and contact us instead for advice

You will need to be able to tell if the screws have engaged enough threads to securely fasten the stand. If you do not have any previous mechanical experience, then ask a professional for help with the installation.

Televisions can be very heavy and can cause great damage or injury if one were to fall. To prevent accidents, take all steps necessary to ensure a safe and secure installation.

To the best of our knowledge, the screws attached are the correct screws for the television model they were purchased for. However, you will still need to verify by yourself, or by the help of a professional, that the installation is safe and secure in case you accidentally received incorrect screws, or purchased the wrong set.

TV Wall Mounting

If you have purchased wall mount screws then please note that the screws are for attaching your wall mount bracket to the VESA screw holes on the back of the television. The screws are NOT for attaching the mount to the wall.

Always use a mount that is recommended by the television manufacturer and has a safety certification such as UL, CSA or ETL.

If your mount requires special hardware in addition to the hardware attached, make sure you use that exact special hardware for the installation.

The screws attached are machine screws, they go into pre-threaded holes and should be easy to screw in without any use of force. If you need to use force, or the screws feels too loose, then do not proceed with the installation and contact us instead for advice.

The length of the screw needed can vary depending on the wall mount bracket used and the surface of the back of the television. If the screws attached appear to be too long, or too short, then stop the installation and contact us for advice. License Plate Installation

License plate screws are typically coarse or fine threaded. Fine threaded screws go into pre-threaded metal holes and coarse threaded screws goes into plastic. Never use a fine threaded screw in plastic, or a coarse threaded screw in metal. If your car is equipped with a license plate bracket, then that bracket may be made of plastic but still have metal nuts or inserts for machine screws. Other brackets are made completely out of plastic and should only be used with self-tapping screws. When installing into plastic, careful not to over-tighten as it’s very easy to strip out the plastic. If your car has threaded inserts, then they may become loose and start to spin around if over-tightened.

If your location requires a front license plate to be installed, then those usually require self-tapping screws. Please verify if you purchased screws for front or rear license plate mounting before installation to make sure you have the correct hardware.

If you are installing a very thin frame, or no frame at all, take care and make sure that the screws do not protrude too far behind any bracket to avoid damaging the paint on the car. If the screws are too long and could cause damage to your car, do not use them and instead contact us for an exchange or full refund.

If your mounting bracket requires special hardware in addition to the hardware attached, make sure you use that exact special hardware for the installation.

If the screws attached appear to be too long, or too short or wrong in any other way, then please stop the installation and contact us for advice. Never force a screw in or attempt to attach the license plates using screws that cannot properly secure it.
